Deakin University, one of Australia’s top-ranked universities in Australia, is offering a great opportunity for Filipino Registered Nurses seeking registration in Australia. The university, which is ranked second for student satisfaction for their nursing program, recognizes previous studies and provides Credit Transfer and Recognition (CTR) towards a Bachelor of Nursing degree by completing six subjects over two trimesters. Completion of the program makes the student eligible to register as a nurse and begin practicing in Australia.

The Faculty of Health also offers a non-award 10-week Initial Registration (Overseas Nurses) course, which is specifically designed to fulfill registration requirements for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for nurses who are from overseas wishing to obtain initial registration. The program approximately costs AUD$12,500.00 and the next intake is on November 2014.

The Deakin School of Nursing and Midwifery is internationally renowned and distinguishes itself through world leading research and education programs. Support staff help is present within campus for international students to settle in Australia and enjoy their stay and studies.

Consuelo always knew she would work in healthcare and this is why she chose Deakin. “I chose Deakin because I received highly positive feedback about it while doing my research, and upon consulting with Inter-Ed back home. After finishing a trimester, I can see why. I have received abundant support from the staff from the beginning until now and that is important as an international student. Deakin has done an excellent job equipping me and helping me every single step of the way.” Consuelo plans to register with the AHPRA and to work in medical-surgical nursing in the future.
