Cover of BC ReportRoger Bartholomew, President of International Education Specialists, will be presenting the highlights from his recently completed research paper, Transnational Education Engagement in the Philippines. Commissioned by the British Council, this paper has researched current practice in the Secondary Schools and the Higher education sector of delivering Transnational Education (TNE) in the Philippines and seeks to create a road map for the future of internationalized education.

Defined as “Higher Education delivered in a country other than the one in which the awarding institution is located”, TNE seeks to build on the best education practice locally available by adding the latest programs and courses delivered through instructional methodology that has been tried and tested in the world’s top schools and institutions.

To bring a deepened awareness about this valuable opportunity for students and institutions in the Philippines, the British Council are holding an academic forum jointly organized with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) entitled “Building Mutually Beneficial Partnerships Through Transnational Education”. Roger Bartholomew will be speaking on the current landscape in the Philippines of TNE engagement with a number of secondary schools, colleges and universities to see what can be learned from their experience and used for moving forwards.

The Forum will be held on Tuesday August 2nd at the Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas from 8.30am – 4.30pm. More information and invitations to attend may be obtained from Lotus Postrado of the British Council at lotus.postrado@britishcouncil.org.ph
