Congratulations to CATS College Canterbury International Baccalaureate Diploma students who received their results on Saturday 6 July 2019.
CATS students achieved an impressive average result of 34.5 points, significantly outperforming students around the globe, with International Baccalaureate reporting a world average score of 29.8 points in 2018.
The top diploma score of 43 points out of 45* was achieved by Veronica from Italy, placing her in the top one per cent of students in the world. She plans to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics at King’s College London, ranked seventh in the UK according to The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018.
With their outstanding grades, CATS students have met a variety of offers to study subjects including International Relations, Business Administration, Law and Economics and Business Management.
Aspiring doctors, twins Rodrigo and Eduardo from Brazil met their offers to both study Medicine at Hull York Medical School. Studying the IB Diploma at an international school was particularly important to them.
They developed cultural awareness, through the development of a second language and learnt to engage with people from around the world. The IB programme encourages personal as well as academic achievement and during their studies, the twins took on leadership roles as student ambassadors.
Sarah Lockyer, Principal at CATS College Canterbury comments:
“Well done to all our IB Diploma students who have achieved outstanding results this year. In addition to their academic achievements, our pupils have fostered cultural awareness by learning in an international environment and are now ready for the next stage of their academic careers.”
For the third consecutive year, CATS College Canterbury achieved a 100% IB Diploma pass rate.
Students can still enrol on the IB Diploma at CATS College Canterbury starting September 2019.
