The Knowledge that Senior Managers need for Promotion-

Makati City, August 27, 2016:

In the corporate world a large proportion of senior management have legal or accounting backgrounds. This is because the complex reality of the current global business environment means that professionals need to have skills that run across a number of key areas. Deakin University’s Master of Accounting and Law was designed with this reality in mind to prepare graduates for careers that require both accounting and legal skills, including financial services, tax consulting, corporate legal advisory, and risk management. Applications are now open for Deakin’s new Master of Accounting and Law course, with students able to begin their degree in November of this year. Students do not need a law or accounting background to apply.

Explaining how this degree is of tremendous benefit to young business professionals and executives wanting to move up to senior management positions in major corporations, Dean Dr. Sandeep Gopolan of Deakin University will be presenting case studies on Diamond Foods and Uber Technologies (Uber) to show the critical importance of knowing and applying the combined regulatory factors of law and accounting to keep a company profitable and operating within the law. This degree also provides students with the accounting knowledge required to join a number of professional bodies and credits toward a qualification with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Students taking this degree will be eligible for the temporary graduate work visa which allows employment in Australia for two years after graduation. Spouses may accompany the student and are permitted to work while their spouses undertake their studies and for the two years after graduation.

The Case Studies and information about the Master of Accounting and Law degree will be presented at the AIM Conference Center (cor. Trasierra Buenavidez St., Legaspi Village) Security Caseroom, on Saturday, August 27th with registration at 8.00am and starting at 8.30am. The presentation is free of charge and open to business executives, professionals and academics. Seating is limited and must be pre-booked through the Inter-Ed website (inter-ed.com/news) or by calling Inter-Ed on 819-1001. Please bring your printed ticket to the event.
