The annual, much-anticipated 26th Career Counseling and Guidance Fair (CCGF) was held from Sept 3 – 5, 2014, at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) in Manila. Endorsed by DepEd, CHED and TESDA, the 26th CCGF showcased the most popular Philippine colleges and universities and some of the best-known institutions from Australia.

Hundreds of guidance counselors and professors accompanied thousands of high school juniors and seniors to the fair. Over 125 high schools from all over Metro Manila were represented.

The wide range of school exhibitors did not disappoint as students received firsthand information from admission officers on the opportunities available to them. The admirable roster of exhibitors included Mapua, the Ateneo, CEU, SFU, LPU, UST, UP, FEU, SISC, St. Pauls (Manila & QC), Adamson, Letran, Fatima, AMA, Global Academy, Enderun, PATTS, iAcademy, Assumption, San Beda, PCU, MFI Foundation, La Consolacion, Treston, APC, Angelicum, Trinty, Manila Times College, TIP, World Citi Colleges, MCHA, FEU (IT) and the Ricky Reyes Learning Institute.

The popular overseas institutions include Australian Int’l School with Australian Catholic University, the Canadian Tourism Academy, William Angliss Institute, Blue Mountain IHMS, Le Cordon Bleu and the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade).

Guests attended the seminars on various subject areas given by experienced speakers from the different exhibiting colleges. Subjects covered included: Business, Science & Engineering, Art & Design, Culinary and Hospitality, Social Sciences and Humanities, and Health Sciences.

Talks specifically for the school administrators and guidance counselors were also given, touching on topics like the K-12 Curriculum, ASEAN integration (Education & Labor Mobility) and Practical Career Counseling.

A seminar was also delivered by Profiles Asia. Profiles Asia is an international firm specializes in career aptitude assessment. A detailed Career Interest Profiler was available for free to all high school students during the event.

Performances from the different exhibiting colleges entertained the guests. Dance numbers, cheer dance routines, and cooking demonstrations were just some of the presentations that the students witnessed.

The event’s various sponsors also had tokens for the attendees of the fair. The sponsors include: Jobs180.com, Red Fox, Sterling, Bio-Essence, Enchanted Kingdom, Ocean Park, WhenInManila, and New Zealand Creamery.

The CCGF is an annual event held by the International Education Specialists (Inter-Ed), the premiere and oldest student placement center in the country. Its aim is to help students make the best, informed choices about their career. It also wants to help educators gain new knowledge on how to better help their students choose their future paths.
