The University of Bedfordshire has a diverse community. It welcomes students from all over the world with over 24,000 students from over 100 countries. The University also has international and multi-cultural learning communities and has education partners in China, the Middle East, South East Asia and Europe. There are also partner summer schools that allows students to study overseas like China and Vietnam.
The University has 11 research institutes that influence and impact UK and European agendas across health, technology, energy, and social policy.
Bedforshire has won numerous awards for its involvement in social issues with its research including the Queen’s Anniversary Prize in 2013 in recognition of our pioneering research. This is the highest form of national recognition for universities in the UK. The research subjects range from organ donation to cyberstalking to smart city development to Parkinson’s disease medication any many more. In 2013 our students gave more than 27,000 hours of volunteering in our local communities. We are a major employer in the region and boost local businesses.
This is the main campus of the University, right in the heart of Luton Town Center.
This campus is located in Polhill Avenue, Bedford.
Putteridge Bury campus
This home of our postgraduate courses and conference centre, and is located on the outskirts of Luton.
This campus is located in the town of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. This is the campus for nursing and midwifery students.
Butterfield Park is located approximately four miles from the main Luton campus. Nursing and midwifery students who choose to be based in Luton are taught at this purpose-built site.
University Campus Milton Keynes (UCMK)
This is the newest campus based in the heart of Milton Keynes.
From industry visits and internships, SU societies and scholarships, to cultural visits, volunteering and master classes, the University of Bedfordshire offers more than a degree to develop talent and make it happen. They have been ranked as a top 10 university for improving the student experience, and a leading university for career choices and prospects (NSS 2015).
The high quality of teaching is one of biggest reasons students come to Bedfordshire. Many of its highly qualified academic staff have received National Teaching Fellowship Awards for their outstanding contribution to teaching and learning.
The courses are grounded in a creative approach to teaching which blends theory with practice. This school’s location
The University of Bedfordshire has campuses in Luton and Bedford which are two of the largest towns in Bedfordshire. Central London is very close to both the Luton and Bedford campuses. Both Luton and Bedford are on the direct line into London St. Pancras International station and it takes around 40 minutes from Bedford and 22 minutes from Luton on a fast train. London Luton Airport is 2.5km from the main University campus and is currently the UK's seventh largest airport, handling more than nine million passengers every year. From there you can fly to destinations all over Europe. Luton town centre is close to Junction 10 of the M1 motorway (and 5km from Junction 11). Luton is less than two hours drive to Cambridge, Oxford, Birmingham and Coventry.
