Study in United Kingdom
De Montfort University
DMU’s success is built on a fantastic student experience coupled with award-winning teaching and world-class facilities that help students develop the skills and attitudes employers demand. Little wonder then that the DMU is one of the top 25 universities for graduate employment according to the annual Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey, where it was reported that 95.8% of DMU graduates from the summer of 2014.
We provide a supportive learning environment in which our students are encouraged to hone their skills, be creative and defy the odds. To ensure they succeed, all 19,000 students are fully supported by 2,700 staff.
DMU is continuously investing in campus development to be able to provide students a modern and inspiring environment. A £136 million transformation plan of the surrounding city centre site will see improved teaching rooms, eating areas and the Students’ Union, and create a beautiful area of parkland at the very heart of the campus.
The centrepiece is an impressive new base for the Faculty of Art, Design and Humanities – with sector-leading teaching facilities that will help DMU to be one of the foremost providers of creative higher education in the UK.
Our extensive plans will also see work being done to add extra break-out areas for students, to open up the riverside on the campus and to significantly improve outdoor sports facilities for the benefit of all.
In addition to this ambitious project, DMU is also restoring the Great Hall of Leicester Castle to its former glory, investing £4.2m in the refurbishment and creating within it a new business school, building on DMU’s excellent reputation in the field of business and management, and offering a portfolio of new courses for ambitious, high-calibre students from around the world.
All De Montfort University (DMU) students belong to one of its four faculties.
Each faculty delivers a wide range of courses to students accompanied with world-changing research and fostering enviable commercial links.
The Faculty of Art, Design and Humanities brings together DMU’s creative disciplines. Its courses range from traditional to boundary pushing and research is rated as internationally excellent. Names such as shoe guru Jimmy Choo and novelist Adele Parks have lectured students thanks to the faculty’s exceptional industry links.
The Faculty of Business and Law delivers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including accounting, law, politics, marketing and business studies, that are all designed with employability in mind. All of our undergraduate courses offer the opportunity to study abroad for up to a year with a partner institution. Housed in the new, state-of-the-art Hugh Aston Building, the faculty is known for its excellent teaching, leading edge research and superb links with industry.
The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences educates and develops current and future healthcare professionals. Our long-standing expertise and strong links with industry ensure our students get a head start in their career. Many of our courses are accredited or endorsed by professional bodies, ensuring our teaching is delivered to the highest quality that is recognised by, and relevant to, current practice. Our strong links with industry leaders and direct input from experienced professionals ensure our courses provide students with the essential and specialist knowledge and skills required for graduate jobs.
