If you graduated from the University of the Philippines in Engineering (any discipline) over the past two years, then Australia wants you!
As part of the Australian Government’s efforts to assist the country with its booming economic expansion, particularly in the engineering and mining sector, the Australian Government approved 17 universities from around Asia for issuance of work permits to their engineering graduates.
In the Philippines, the University of the Philippines was selected. Recent graduates of any engineering program can apply for an 18-month work permit and quickly fly to Australia to look for a job and start work immediately. The number of avenues to grow professionally is overwhelming and salaries for engineers are VERY high.
Additionally, if the graduate is married, the spouse can apply for a permit as well.
For non-UP engineering graduates who wish to seize this rare opportunity, any master’s degree or second bachelor’s degree obtained in any UP engineering program is also considered.
The criteria for the for the work permit are straight-forward:
- Be a graduate of any UP engineering course: Bachelors or Masters
- Have graduated with in the last two years of application
- Have an IELTS score of at least 6.0
- Medical examination results
Work experience and professional license are not a requirement but may help when looking for employment.
The whole application process takes around 5 – 6 months.
