University of North Texas (UNT) is well-known for its music programs and Denton, TX (home of UNT) is where the locals go to hear great music. Several notable bands and performers have attended UNT and are signed to major labels, including Roy Orbison, Eli Young Band, Bowling for Soup, Norah Jones, and Midlake. Paste Magazine even named Denton as the best music scene in the United States in 2008!
