If you are a recent Engineering graduate in any engineering discipline from the University of the Philippines, Australia wants you!

To assist the country with its booming economic expansion, specifically in the engineering and mining sector, the Australian government approved 13 universities from around the world for issuance of work permits to their engineering graduates. In the Philippines, University of the Philippines was selected and recent graduates can apply for an 18 month work permit and quickly fly to Australia to look for a job and start work.

While licensure is not a requirement, obviously engineers with professional licenses do tend to command higher salaries as to those engineers with stronger English communication skills  (IELTS 6. 0 is the minimum requirement).

CRITERIA

The criteria for the for the work permit are straight-forward:

    • Be a graduate of any UP engineering course: Bachelors or Masters
    • Have graduated with in the last two years of application
    • Have an IELTS score of at least 6.0
    • Medical

Work experience and professional license are not a requirement but may help when looking for employment.

COST and PROCESSING TIME

The total cost including visa fee and medical for processing the work permit is just under AUD$3,500.00 and typically take 5 – 6 months processing time from start to finish.
