LogoHRM students at LPU Batangas and Laguna will be joining the $1.17[1] Trillion global hospitality and tourism industry through paid internships organized by Inter-Ed. The global hotel industry is $457B per year and hotels and resorts need smart young people at operations, supervisory and management level to sustain the growth. Getting into the industry and getting your slice of the pie can be tough. Frequently a Bachelor’s degree or a Diploma is not enough, as employers want demonstrated skills and work experience.

The solution is PAID INTERNSHIPS. Within a supervised setting, students get the opportunity to put their learning into practice and gain confidence from constant exposure to the general public in a real life commercial setting. Internships are available in the areas of Kitchen, Food & Beverage, and Front Desk. Currently, Australia provides some of the best opportunities in 4/5 star hotels and resorts and pays exactly the same wages to LPU interns as it does to Australian employees. These are typically AUD$18.00/hour giving students taking the 6-month program the earning potential of AUD$16,380.00 for the 6 months, or AUD$32,760.00 for 12 months. Interns typically work 32 – 40 hours per week, and additional hours are classified as overtime with higher hourly rates.

The partnership between LPU and Inter-Ed is one of the many ways that Inter-Ed helps Philippine students become globally competitive through overseas studies and internships.
